The way we see the world and people around us depends on the connection we have with ourselves. Our minds are constantly chattering, creating scenarios that did not even happen. In these overthinking patterns, we go too hard on ourselves because of  feeling insecure.

The relationship that you have with yourself tells a lot about the way you communicate with the world. If you're willing to show love to yourself and treat yourself better, the people around you will automatically do the same. As a result, you will start to feel more confident and content. Learning to love ourselves is not as difficult as we believe. Here are 5 ways that you can achieve self-love:

1) Change the Words that you use for yourself:

Sometimes, we show our weaknesses and flaws without talking to other people, start observing the words you use for yourself. By only changing the language that we use while talking to ourselves or others about ourselves, we can change our whole mindset. The words we use are so powerful that they can create our reality.  Therefore, it is important to start observing your language and reframe the words you are continually  using.

2) Practice Self-Love Meditation:

Meditation practice should be something students are taught at schools worldwide. Meditation teaches us how to treat ourselves and others around us. We all are beings of love and we deserve to be treated with love. However, we can’t wait for someone else to come and show love to us! It all starts from within. If you know how to love yourself, you won’t be begging others for their love.

Start practicing self-love meditation for 5 to 10 minutes every day. As the days pass by, you will notice an increased  self-awareness and mindfulness within you.

3) Listen to Affirmations:

Another effective way to reprogram your mind is to listen to affirmations every day. The way we communicate and take action in our daily lives depends on our mindset. Listening to affirmations removes our negative blockages and transforms our thinking patterns for good. Start listening to self-love affirmations daily for at least 21 days for effective results.

4) Surround Yourself with Positive People:

Focus on the circle of friends you hang out with. Do you feel negative or demotivated in their presence? Or do you feel empowered and motivated after meeting them? Sometimes, we feel drained in the presence of our family members or some friends but we choose to ignore it. If someone’s energy is making you uncomfortable or anxious, it is time to walk away! Everything is balanced in this universe. If you lose someone, the universe sends another person to fill that void.

5) Focus on your Habits:

A positive change occurs with just a few changes we make in our daily routine. This includes the food we eat, water intake, workout routine, and our sleeping patterns. Start treating your body with love and you will notice a huge positive change in your mental health. Make small goals for every day that is easily achievable. You will notice that by the end of the month, you will have achieved a lot more than you could imagine and It all happened because you took that “One Step”!

Being trapped in a materialistic world or growing up in toxic or damaged households has made many of us incapable of self love. We are constantly bombarded by negativity and judgement, it doesn't seem easy to unchain ourselves from those destructive habits we have been conditioned to. But these easy steps will be the start of a brand new lifestyle and a self confidence you never knew you could be capable of.
